![]() There is a hole on your sci-fi DVDs shelf. The animation is superb, the sound quality is stunning with full 5.1 surround sound on both episode discs, and of course the sheer scope of the stories give you plenty of entertainment. Overall, any die-hard sci-fi buff worthy of the title should have this in their collection. including the pilot episode, the original MTV shorts, an informative section on the history of Aeon Flux, and another on 'The Deviant Devices of Aeon Flux', production art, and other works by the creator, Peter Chung. This 3-disc set contains the 10 episodes, plus lots more on top. Yes, admittedly it is supposed to be about 400 years in the future, but still, it's a bit too surreal for all but the most hardened sci-fi buff. they just add something surreal to it all. With all of the ultra-wierd semi- or fully-organic machinery, toys, weapons, and other assorted doohikees, the phase- and dimension-shifted environments, and of course all of the other strange characters that pop up throughout. ![]() However, I think one can never overlook the original inspiration to any great movie. Having seen the movie remake and this DVD set so close together, I find myself tormn between my love of the classics, and the very impressive, but quite different remake.
